Cyclones grab overtime wins!

Listowel, Ont- The Cyclones (10-3-1) picked up both wins in overtime. The Cyclones played the Brantford Titans (4-11-1) on October 30th away. The Cyclones also faced the Cambridge RedHawks (9-6-1) at the Steve Kerr Memorial Arena November 1st.

Thursday, October 31th the Listowel Cyclones travelled to Brantford to play the Titans. For the first period the Titans would score the first goal at 12:30.

In the second period Dylan Szymanowski would score the first goal to make it a 1-1 game. Trenton Harris & Aiden Renaud both grabbing the assist on that goal at 2:48 into the second. With 32 seconds left, Wylie Birkett would  pick up his fifth goal of the season. Chris O’Flaherty feeding the puck to Birkett for the top shelf goal at 19:28.

The third period, the Titans would answer with a goal to send the game into overtime.

Overtime would be 3 on 3 hockey for seven minutes. Dylan Szymanowski getting the breakaway and giving CycsNation the overtime win.

Goaltender Jack Bree was in net, making 22 saves of the game.

Friday, November 1st, the Cyclones would face the Cambridge Redhawks for a 7:30 puck drop on home ice.
Into the first period a bouncing puck comes to Dylan Szymanowski in the Redhawks zone and fires it home put the Cyclones in the lead at 14:00.  He picks up his 6th goal of the season. The second period at 1:41, the RedHawks tie up the game. The Cyclones answer back, with Jordan Visneski feeding the puck to Benson Moore. Teagan Vader finds the pass from Moore and puts it in past the post. The Cyclones would lead at 11:25 into the second period.

The third period, the Redhawks would score on the powerplay sending the game into overtime. The game winning goal would come from Wylie Birkett. Chris O’Flarhety with the pass to Birkett who tipped it in the back of the net. That would make it a 2-3 final score for CyscNation on home ice, in overtime.

Riley Arts in net, with 28 saves in front of a hometown crowd of 434 fans.
The Cyclones now climb to 5th in the Midwestern Conference (8th overall) after picking up another 4 points.

NEXT ACTION: The Cyclones will travel to Stratford to face the Warriors in a classic “Battle of Perth County”. The game takes place November 8th for a 7:30 puck drop.

The next home game is Sunday, November 10th at the Steve Kerr Memorial Arena for a 1:30 puck drop when they face the Lasalle Vipers. Come out and support your Cyclones!
